About JRI Technology
Consulting
JRI Technology
was founded in 1982 to provide product development, electronic
and video engineering, and other services to businesses in
the electronic and communications technologies industry.
We work on a per project basis: from product concept definition
to the provision of working prototypes and post-manufacture
support. Products and projects have been completed for university-based
groups, small and large businesses, and for Fortune 500 companies.
The emphasis at JRI Technology is on excellent work and a
quick concept-to-market time.
Video compression
Video compression is enabling factor in most
cases storage and transmission of digital video - they would
not be practical without video compression. There are many
standards and solutions to choose from, but finding the right
selection for your needs may not be simple.
Here are some sample questions we help you answer:
• How do you define your video compression needs?
• How do you find candidate solutions?
• How do you compare different solutions?
• How do you measure picture quality?
• What is the trade-off between bitrate and quality?
* How do you synchronize audio and video (lip-sync)?
• What if the bandwidth of your transmission channel
changes with time?
• Which technologies are in the pipeline that may affect
your decision today?
Technology Standardization
Our staff
has extensive experience in the MPEG (ISO/IEC SC29 WG11) and
SMPTE standards organization (where Dr. Isailovic served as
co-chair). If your goal is to bring your technology to the
standards organization, JRI Technology can help you to be
effective in the standards-setting process. If your goal is
merely to make use of the technology in your next product,
JRI Technology can help you to identify technology that meets
your needs. If your staff wishes to attend the standards meetings,
our experts can consult with your staff, or JRI Technology
staff can attend the meetings and represent your company.
